Hall of the Military Glory

On the dome of the hall 18 orders and a guard ribbon are depicted. On the ribbon there is an iscription: “Yes, we were mere mortals, and very few of us have survived, but all of us have done our patriotic duty to the holy Motherland”.

The walls are decorated with 34 mosaic banners, where 7200 names are engraved. Particular names signify more than million defenders of Stalingrad who were killed in the battle.

In the centre of the hall there is a sculpture that presents the hand holding a torch with the Eternal Fire. The falling warriors pass the fire of life to the next generations. The Eternal Fire is guarded by the soldiers of the Honorable Guard. They are changed every hour.
